BCME is the largest mathematics and mathematics education conference in the UK, attracting delegates from all sectors. It brings together teachers from early years to higher education, researchers, teacher educators, CPD providers, consultants, policy makers, examiners and professional and academic mathematicians.
Wherever you work you will, as a delegate at BCME8, have an unrivalled opportunity to mix with colleagues in your own specialist area and broaden your horizons by making connections with those working in other specialist areas. You will be able to compile your individual programme by selecting from over 250 general sessions and research paper presentations. You will be able to choose between standard and en-suite student rooms, on-site hotel accommodation and non-residential registration.
Details of the venue can be found by clicking here.
If you have already booked please do book your session places soon here.
Please note that the current rate for hotel rooms will only be available until March 2014. If you wish to stay in the hotel at the current rate we would recommend that you book early to avoid disappointment.

The Association of Teachers of Mathematics and the Mathematical Association will be holding their AGMs during BCME8. These will take place on Tuesday evening, commencing at 19:00. The venues for these meetings will be displayed prominently for members. Other associations are invited to hold their AGMs during BCME8 and are invited to contact BCME8 organisers to notify them of their intention to do so.
ATM and MA Bookstalls
The ATM and MA bookstalls will be open Monday afternoon and all day Tuesday, Wednesday and on Thursday morning in the East Midlands Conference Centre, giving attendees the opportunity to view and buy materials at reduced conference prices.
First Timers' Conference Tea
The first timers' conference tea offers the opportunity for new attendees to join a brief session during the Monday afternoon tea break This session will be held in the workshop above the main foyer of the conference centre.
The organisers of BCME8 are keen to promote local activity and, to this end, have invited both Mathsjam and the local (East Midlands) joint MA/ATM branch to run events. These will be open to all delegates and will take place on the Monday evening of Conference, starting at 19:30.
A range of publishers and educational suppliers will be exhibiting throughout Tuesday and Wednesday in the East Midlands Conference Centre.
All are welcome to this extremely popular event. We accept teams of up to five people. Don't have a team yet? Turn up anyway and we'll help you find one. It's a great way to make new friends.
Colin Penfold and Tony Cotton have written and are organising the quiz. This will take place on Tuesday evening starting at 20:30 in the main lecture theatre (EMCC).
The ATM Workshop - not to be confused with workshop sessions run by delegates. The ATM Workshop is open all hours and contains equipment and puzzles to amuse and delight you. You may choose to spend time in the workshop where you can work on problems set in sessions you have attended. It may be that you arrive at a session and find that it is not what you thought from the description - in this case you can retire to the workshop - no one minds you leaving a session if it is not for you.
The ATM Workshop is a long standing tradition at conferences and is also a meeting place for friends and colleagues. It is a place where new delegates who have not attended a conference before can find friendly faces and people who are willing to converse. Please drop in at sometime during the conference.
The overall organisation of BCME 8 is being undertaken by a Planning Committee; detailed work on the programme is the responsibility of a Programme Committee. Membership of these committees can be seen here.
